The Budget Support Officer is a team membership position that is accountable under general direction, to undertake moderately complex activities and tasks within established procedures and guidance.
The position provides operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound
knowledge in service delivery areas and undertakes some research and analysis activities.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Analysing Client records using a range of policies, practice guidance and legislation to make funding decisions
- Working with Clients and their representatives via telephone communication, to identify current circumstances and spending patterns
- High quality record keeping, including competency with IT systems, adhering to process guidelines and standard operating procedures
- Research and review decisions and manage moderately complex cases with the assistance of staff at higher classification level
- Completing administrative and data entry tasks
- Contributing to the achievement of key performance indicators, including planning targets
- Previous experience in a compliance, budgeting, auditing role
- Well established communication and interpersonal skills; maintaining a personable, patient and kind demeanour
- Adherence to KPI's and targets
- Attendance at external locations offsite including Client homes (which may have multiple stories or be accessible only via uneven ground, stairs)
- Performing high levels of phone usage and/or face to face work
- Driving a vehicle to attend external locations which are not otherwise accessible by public transport
- Mobility over uneven terrain such as unsealed roads, footpaths, steps and stairs in all weather conditions.
- Australian Citizenship and the willingness to apply for additional clearances as required.
