You’ll be joining an extra large Department, boasting several communications branches and delivering programs, payments and services for the wellbeing of all Australians.
The Role:
This is a new role, created to support a significant reform and policy change in the health and aged care sector. You will be working closely with policy teams to develop written communications for stakeholders, both internal and external.
You will write content for several platforms and audiences including social media content, newsletters, video scripts, speeches, and brochures.
This is a busy role with many moving parts. You will be required to manage multiple requests from various areas at any one time, as well as mange the approval and clearance for content. Experience in a taskforce or reform environment is highly desired for this position.
This is a 6 – 12 month contract position with the possibility of extension. An S26 transfer may be considered for current permanent APS employees.
This position may be offered in either Canberra, Brisbane or Melbourne. No other locations or remote working will be considered.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of communication, engagement, change and media strategies for key departmental projects and initiatives with the support of your own team.
- Support in the management of internal clients, including drafting internal communication plans and strategies
- Lead and manage other duties in the team including drafting corporate messaging, authoring corporate messaging, SharePoint publishing, inbox management and internal events management
- Support team performance, productivity and accountability for outcomes.
- Contribute to section corporate management, planning and reporting processes.
Your Skills and Experience:
To be considered for this role you must have Government experience – applicants with private sector only experience will not be considered for this position.
Experience managing, or a knowledge of, Government communications clearance and approval processes is essential for this position.
