Beaumont&Beaumont have been engaged by our client to recruit an APS 5 equivalent level Investigator (Compliance and Enforcement) to work within a major Commonwealth Government Department. The successful candidate would be working with the Road & Vehicle Safety Division, which aims to improve road safety and reduce road trauma for all Australians.
The Department currently has a number of vacancies for APS5 Investigators and are looking to fill these positions within the Compliance and Enforcement section, for a period of 12 months from advertisement.
The APS5 Investigator has a key role in undertaking a range of regulatory, compliance and enforcement activities to potential non-compliance. The position requires an individual who is naturally results oriented and someone who enjoys a complex and sometimes high-pressure work environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Assistant Director and Senior Investigators in undertaking complex compliance and enforcement matters and/or projects.
- Developing plans for investigations: including elementising offences, developing lines of enquiry and setting key milestones.
- Undertaking detailed consideration of compliance issues to identify and demonstrate where non-compliance may have occurred.
- Conducting a range of investigation activities to progress regulatory outcomes against the investigation plan, including collecting evidence, obtaining witness statements and conducting records of interview.
- Identifying and recommending appropriate and proportionate escalation pathways to resolve compliance issues, including the use of various legislated enforcement tools.
- Leading the analysis and assessment of information gathered as a result of compliance activities and then recommending and leading an appropriate enforcement response.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A strong commitment to integrity and accountability.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to generate high-quality written materials to support decision making.
- Practical experience in risk management, intelligence, enforcement and/or regulatory compliance.
- Ability to manage compliance related activities and/or multiple tasks, to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills including the ability to analyse issues from different perspectives and draw sound inferences from available data and information.
- Well-developed judgment and discretion.
Demonstrated understanding of government administrative frameworks and decision-making processes, familiarity of RVS legislation, and understanding of mechanical engineering, automotive technology or the automotive industry are highly regarded.
It is a requirement from our client that applicants are Australian Citizens and have to ability to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance.
