Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
Join a forward-thinking team as an APS6 Project Officer in the Market Stewardship and Home & Living Group within the NDIA.  The position is a leadership position within the Agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across a range of activities. The Market Stewardship and Home & Living Group leads the way in effectively managing our Partners in the Community and oversees the provider market. You will shape the strategic direction for the group, ensuring it align with our scheme’s objectives.

The APS6 Project Officer role provides an exciting opportunity to offer comprehensive support and advice, within the National Disability Scheme (NDIS). With a focus on strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development you will play a vital role in helping the NDIA achieve its objective to become a world-leading NDIS.  You will have the opportunity to: 
Provide specialised advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
Develop and manage project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
Conduct independent research and analysis, including draft reports on project activities.
Coordinate regular project reporting, including status updates and exception reports.
Prepare written materials, such as business cases, plans, executive briefs and cooperate documentation.

While this role is ideally performed from Geelong - VIC, Maroochydore - QLD, Port Adelaide - SA or Bathurst - NSW, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
