The Sydney Pharmacy School is seeking to appoint a HEO 6 Project Officer to assist in the MRFF grant funded research relating to dispensing patient empowerment and self-management skills through technology enabled interventions delivered by community pharmacists.
The incumbent will be required to work across multiple projects led by Professor Bandana Saini, her research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a self-management coaching and adherence support health service enhanced with available digital medicine use reminder technologies delivered in the community pharmacy setting for people with asthma or COPD. The proposed health service will improve self- management abilities, health outcomes and quality of life of Australians with asthma and COPD, facilitate review of patients by their general practitioners through referral and triage pathways and improve the quality use of respiratory medicines.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Assist with the design, development and documentation of research protocols
- ensure that research protocols are adhered to, and report any adjustments that might be necessary
- provide guidance and/or advice on regulations, policies and procedures in relation to research project undertaken
- assists with preparation of Ethics Committee and governance applications as required
- assist with collection of research data, enter/store in appropriate statistical software, and prepares statistical analysis/reports as required eg; capturing and managing survey data in REDcap
- regularly sort and organise files, maintain all necessary records/documentation in a timely and concise manner
- carry out literary searches, collect papers, code information, summarise literature, etc for the Chief Investigator and/or Academics of the School/Faculty
- maintain academic and research records for the project, including project registers, EndNote libraries and publication register
- liaises with clinical specialists and affiliated researchers
- coordinate the submission of research publications for the work area
- assist research team in collection of qualitative and quantitative data and health services data.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in appropriate discipline and/or relevant experience in related field. May have (or be working towards) postgraduate qualifications- PHD in relevant field
- extensive experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, experimental design, ethics submissions and grant applications
- proven project management skills
- be a registered pharmacist
- have current Ahpra registration
- advanced skills in data analysis qualitative and quantitative, using statistical analysis tools, and reporting on research findings
- excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day to day operational matters
- strong stakeholder management
- ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work.
