About the Centre
Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre is part of the Boroondara Leisure Facilities and is managed by YMCA Victoria. Running a variety of fitness programs to support your journey to a healthier lifestyle. Its home to five pools; an outdoor 25m Pool, Indoor 25m Pool, Hydrotherapy Pool, 2 spas, a toddler pool with a feature play slide and a sauna. Ashburton also has 2 basketball courts, a gym, creche and a café.
About The Role
Our program collaborates with more than 15 local schools to provide swimming & water safety lessons to children and young people in our community. As Team Leader, you will report to the Aquatics Coordinator and oversee the planning and execution of programs tailored for schools and Birthday Parties. Working alongside the Aquatics Coordinator and a team comprising over 60 swim teachers, you will manage the booking, organisation, and staffing of these programs. Additional duties include:
General leadership within the aquatics team including assisting the Aquatics Coordinator in managing & developing the staff team
Rostering and paying of staff
Liaising with school contacts
End of month reporting & invoicing
Coordinating with other centre leaders
This role is permanent, part-time with an hourly rate of $30.75.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have strong admin skills, show attention to detail, and have experience leading a small team. You will be required to commit to a regular pattern of work, whilst being able to include additional rostered hours during seasonal peak times.
Essential Qualifications
First Aid and CPR certificates
Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety qualification
