Based in Kalgoorlie, WA, the purpose of the Area Manager role is to profitably grow our business across the geography through increasing market share, managing safe, efficient operations and driving exceptional customer experience.
Your strong track record of BDM and B2B sales in a trade/industrial environment will hold you in good stead for this role.
Additional responsibilities in this role also include:
- Increasing portfolio profitability through effective price, product substitution & contract management.
- You will identify, develop, and commercialize growth opportunities with existing customer accounts and new business prospects, particularly in the gas and welding equipment business whilst working with local and trade allies within the local community and industry.
- Management of the local distribution model and retail store – including inventory, cost control and leading the local team is part of this role.
- You will be supporting, implementing, and driving group strategy, policies, and procedures.
- In addition, you have solid understanding, monitoring, and reporting of competitor activity and market trends.
- You lead and promote customer-centric focus, innovation in products & service.
- Furthermore, you create win-win interactions that add value to the customer and BOC.
- Take ownership of developing, mentoring and coaching employees to build their skills and capabilities.
Skills and experience we are looking for:
- Bringing strong selling and business development skills including customer negotiation.
- You possess thorough knowledge of price and contract management.
- Experience in growing existing accounts, generation and conversion.
- Your excellent time management skills afford a results focused approach - takes initiative.
- In addition, you are a natural negotiator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Although not essential, welding, fabrication, or similar trade experience would be highly regarded.
- Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, SAP, CRM)
- Current Driver’s License is essential.
