Job description

About Edge

Based across QLD, ACT and South Australia currently with 60 centres, Edge Early Learning is creating a new leaf in early childhood education. We are deliberate and thoughtful in delivering exceptional foundations for lifelong learning for children, families, team members and individual communities.

About the role
As the Area Manager & Program and Practice Leader, you will be responsible for supporting our services throughout ACT and other regional areas. The successful candidate will be able to regularly travel within ACT, with the opportunity for interstate travel to support other centres. You will be a champion of people engagement with a keen focus on continuous improvement opportunities for both our staff and our families. You will be an integral member of the Operations Team, while also working in close partnership with Centre Directors and our Support Office team to make a meaningful difference to the education and care across our centres.

As a combined role of Area Manager & Program and Practice Leader, you will be a natural leader, with the ability to integrate quality early childhood practices and programming, as well as support business practices to enable our centres to thrive. Each Edge Early Learning is unique with outstanding learning environments designed to promote the best outcomes for children.

Our Centre Directors have the autonomy to make decisions and manage the day-to-day operation of their centre, so you will be a genuine support to the centre teams, sharing your knowledge and expertise in programming and centre management.

Are you our next Area Manager & Program Practice Leader?

  • Support the educational leaders to ensure effective and efficient programming practices
  • Ensure each centre is compliant with all regulatory requirements and operational standards are met or exceeded within each centre.
  • Be innovative to identify and develop processes and tools to support the educational and business performance of centres.
  • Ensure each centre implements the Early Years Learning Framework and meets the National Quality Standards across all seven areas and National Law and Regulations.
  • Provide strong mentoring and coaching opportunities to ensure centre leadership teams are confident and thriving.
  • Implementation and monitoring of centre policies and procedures.
  • Work in partnership with the Program and Practice Manager to ensure quality care and education programs for children and continuous learning for staff.
  • Regularly review each centres Quality Improvement Plans, and implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Provide support and guidance through the Assessment and Rating process.

What can you offer us?
In addition to having qualifications in Early Childhood Education and a valid Working with Vulnerable People card, Driver’s Licence and Police Check (or the ability to acquire one), to be considered for this opportunity, you will need to:

  • Have operational and management experience within the early learning sector, including the opening of new centres (preferred).
  • Kidsoft, Storypark and CRM software experience (preferred).
  • A proven ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and engagement.
  • Have significant experience in creating relationships to successfully engage, motivate, coach and mentor others.
  • A demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes through commercial and operational acumen.
  • Have experience and understanding on rostering dynamic teams.
  • Understand the National Quality Framework and the Assessment and Rating process.
  • Show commitment to your own development and display a high level of self-awareness.
  • Thrive on working within a team and enjoy having some fun along the way!

What can we offer you?
