About the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to develop and oversee Council assets throughout the entirety of their lifecycle, ensuring that programs and financial reporting is maintained in line with regulatory requirements.
Duties
- Developing, reviewing and updating Asset Management Policies, Strategies and Plans to meet regulatory requirements and strategic operational needs.
- Reviewing Council’s Asset Management assumptions including asset life spans, depreciation, renewal costs and intervention levels.
- Developing and implementing an inspection program for reassessing the condition of Council assets.
- Ensuring assets are revalued in accordance with the requirements of the Office of Local Government.
- Providing accurate information and recommendations to Asset Managers regarding strategic costs estimates and timing for renewals, replacements and improvements to assets.
- Minimum qualification in Civil Engineering or Asset Management (AQF6)
- Experience in developing, implementing and reviewing long term Asset Management Policy and Plans including plan renewal and improvement
- Extensive relevant experience in an Asset Management field
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting asset information and preparing comprehensive written reports for management providing recommendations.
- Proven ability to work independently to solve Asset Management related problems through analytic reasoning and interrogation of a wide ranging of information.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and use negotiation skills to resolve problems.
