The position
As Operational Controller, you will be based in our Sydney office weekday working dayshift. You will work as part of a highly motivated 24/7 Global Control Centre team responsible for the monitoring of RES owned and managed renewable energy assets across all regions and technologies, as well as safe and efficient control and coordination of work carried out by technical and engineering teams.
We are seeking an engineering or science student/graduate with strong analytical skills, computer knowledge and an ability to interpret technical data to assist in analyzing plant performance across a range of wind and solar plants. You will be a dedicated team player with high standards and attention to detail, motivated to deliver a first-class Operational Control service.
Key Accountabilities
Monitoring:
- Monitor & Control assets via various software platforms.
- Manage Day-to-Day Work Control utilising Safe Systems of Work.
- Manage site access, Lone working, Emergency response and Incident reporting Processes.
- Coordinate, communicate and report on outages in the electricity network.
- Interface with stakeholders, authorities and responsible parties regarding grid outages and curtailments.
- Produce and maintain Control Centre procedures.
- Administer system data.
- Produce production and performance reports.
Energy Market:
- Assist Asset Management team with the Management of daily market offers.
- Liaise with stakeholders, authorities, and responsible parties regarding planned and unplanned network
events.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Support requests for data queries relating to energy generation and revenue earnings as dictated by
market data and contract requirements.
- Develop standard procedures for undertaking queries.
- Assist with the planning of site operational events including network outages.
- Analyse short term electricity market conditions.

Knowledge
Skills
- Working knowledge of renewable energy generating plant (electro/mechanical)
- Experience of Control Centre systems would be a considerable advantage.
- Strong Microsoft skills essential (Excel VBAs and macros preferred)
- SQL, Python and R coding are desirable but not essential

Qualifications
- Experience of Control Centre systems would be a considerable advantage.
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical / Electrical/ Renewable Energy engineering
