Our client is one of the Australia's leading overseas Infrastructure & Building Contractors. With its head office located in West Melbourne, this company delivers diverse & socially important projects overseas and at home.
Role
Due to continued growth they are seeking an ‘Assistant Accountant’ to join the team located in the family friendly West Melbourne office.
A permanent position you will become integral to the financial health of the business, ultimately supporting the senior leadership and construction project teams to deliver quality (profitable) projects across the Southern Hemisphere.
Supporting the Financial Controller, your overall objectives include review/reconcile general ledger accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring the company’s profitability, liquidity & solvency, whilst allowing for timely and accurate financial reporting.
As part of the daily duties you will work closely with the finance administration team, across key areas include accounts payable, cashflow management, payroll, financial reporting and general administration within the accounts department.
Some flexible working from home and school pick up support can be offered.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have at least 3yrs accounting/finance experience with a reputable property, engineering or construction related organisation, reaching the level of Junior Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar.
Proficiency in accounting software is expected, with knowledge of construction related programs such as Jobpac a real advantage.
You must demonstrate a high level of personal & professional maturity, with independent judgement, accuracy, combined with honesty and integrity.
With a personable nature you will communicate effectively with all stakeholders, whilst working positively within a team environment
Qualifications
Degree qualifications in Accounting is expected, whilst having obtained (or with ambition to complete) CPA, CA, IPA is an advantage. Further accreditation attainment will be well supported by leading industry professionals, who will provide mentorship and training when needed.
