The Role
As the Assistant Base Manager, you will lead a team working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure essential services are delivered, and that Defence property and assets are maintained to a high standard. You will design and recommend solutions and management strategies for whole of base operations, incident management and strategic planning.
You will work independently and as part of an integrated team and be accountable for achieving your deliverables. You will exercise initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and the application of procedures.

About our Team
You will be responsible for leading and developing a small team and accountable for setting, managing and monitoring workflows. You will have experience in developing team capability and confidence through coaching, feedback, and encouraging staff to be the 'best they can be'; while delivering a professional and consistent service to the customer.
You will be working with your team and partner agencies to enhance the customer experience. You will be agile in your thinking, proactive in engaging with your peer network and stakeholders, as well as actively identifying opportunities to implement improvements to service delivery.
The Defence base team provides and coordinates essential on-the-ground services and support to Defence personnel across their base. The Defence base team works closely with contracted service providers to sustain the Defence working environment, to conduct whole-of-base planning and coordination, and conduct incident response and recovery activities.
