Furthermore, they produce over 14.4 million eggs per week, which makes them one of the largest egg-producers/processers in Australia. Due to an internal promotion, they are on the lookout for an Assistant Farm Manager to be based at one of their rearing facilities near Millmerran, in Queensland’s Darling Downs.
Your Role

In the role of Assistant Farm Manager, you will play a crucial part in supporting the Farm Manager in overseeing on-site poultry support services, ensuring the production of top-quality pullets aligned with the highest animal welfare standards.
Your responsibilities extend to supervising two rearing sites encompassing 13 sheds and a total of 760,000 birds. Central to your role is the effective management and mentoring of a skilled team of 13. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the implementation, development, and monitoring of the rearing system to deliver high-quality pullets to Laying Farms on time.
- Managing a team of shed staff on a 10/4 roster.
- Ensuring animal welfare and adherence to guidelines.
- Maintaining and operating shed systems and equipment.
- Ensuring shed climates are kept at optimum levels for poultry at all times.
- Assisting with 24/7 alarm coverage.
- Efficiently supplying pullets to Laying Farms.
- Undertaking other operational tasks as directed by the manager.
About You
The ideal candidate with possess proven supervisory or managerial experience in poultry laying or a similar setting. Transparency and approachability are key attributes, along with a proactive work ethic. Candidates who have demonstrated experience in supervising culturally diverse teams will be highly valued.
