Address Newly created Assistant Accountant role, paying $72-75k + Super
Your new company
This Sydney based Financial Services company is looking for a permanent Assistant Accountant to work in its Sydney CBD office. The role has come about due growth in the business and will report to the Financial Controller.
The successful candidate will be responsible in the accurate processing and control of accounts payable and receivable during the month, and be involved in all month end processes.
Your new role
Main Responsibilities
Maintain Accounts Payable and Receivable for the organisation
Check and process payment requests and reimbursements on time, and send remittances
File all payment records and direct debit tax invoices
Reconcile payments on monthly basis
Act as a main contact point for all creditor enquiries
Assist preparing Sales and Ad hoc reports
Assist in the month-end processing of General Ledger accounts, including processing month-end journals, intercompany recharges, credit card and bank reconciliations
Assist with various accounting projects
Other ad-hoc duties required by management
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
A Degree in accounting and studying towards CPA
Effective verbal and written communication
The ability to prioritise tasks daily
Attention to detail and accuracy
Honest, reliable, and punctual
Proficient in operation of Microsoft Office and Excel
Self-motivated and able to work independently
