The role
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, Assistant Financial Accountant or Financial Analyst to work in an ASX listed company and to join our energetic and professional team based in Moorabbin, VIC.
As our Assistant Financial Accountant, the successful candidate will report to the Group Commercial Manager and work closely with the Group CFO, management and external company auditors to provide financial reporting across the group.
Responsibilities
- Accurate and timely completion of month-end processes including processing of journals, finalisation of month-end reports and balance sheet reconciliations as required
- Accounts receivable reconciliation, allocation of customer credits and maintaining rebates register. Preparing a weekly reconciliation of AR and uploads for external providers.
- Receipting customer payments, bank reconciliation and communicating with customer regarding their accounts.
- Supporting the Group Commercial Manager in managing and coordinating group monthly P&L and subsidiary account in Australia and the US
- Support and provide input into Group budgets and forecasts
- Assist with BAS, PAYE and other tax lodgements as required
- Monthly variance analysis and commentaries as required
- Processing accounts payable invoices for approval as required
- Process improvements
- Ad hoc projects.
Successful candidates will have
- CA/CPA qualification or be studying towards
- Relevant Accounting tertiary qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience, ideally in the wellness, wholesale, distribution and/or manufacturing industries
- Interest in implementing system and process improvements
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Advanced skills in Xero
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and accounting principles
- Broad understanding of business process and internal controls related to accounting functions and across businesses.
