About the Role
As the Weatherbeeta Assistant Accountant you will be joining a supportive Finance team operating from our headquarters based in the Southeast of Melbourne. This is a full-time role working across the Financial Accounting function. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of accounting principles, strong organisational skills, numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare general journals
- Review data and produce accurate reports
- Prepare intercompany recharges and transactions
- General ledger, balance sheet and intercompany balance reconciliations
- Record and reconcile financial data accurately
- Comply with relevant accounting standards and regulations
- Support senior financial accountant with various tasks
- Enter payment of team member expenses
- Complete bank account reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation, collation of Month End Reconciliation and profit/loss reports
- Assist in the preparation and collation of Year End process
- Prepare quarterly BAS Returns
- Adhere to all processes and procedures within the Finance Department
- Provide administrative support as/where required in team
- Other ad hoc duties
About You

- Strong people / interpersonal skills
- Aptitude for finance and commerce
- Clear communication skills
- Deals confidently with all stakeholders
- Experience using MS NAVISION (accounting system)
- Advanced MS EXCEL skills
- Month-end experience preferred
- Team orientated and results focused
- Adaptable and flexible to varying priorities and demands
- 2- 4 years’ accounting experience in a similar position / company
- Relevant tertiary qualification preferred, not essential
