About the RoleWe are seeking applications for the Full-Time role of Assistant Manager within our Food & Beverage business unit. Reporting to the Manager – Food and Beverage, you will be responsible for assisting the Food and Beverage Management team in the day-to-day operation of QPAC’s restaurants, bars and functions ensuring high standards of service delivery, profitability and efficiency.
In this role you will:
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and consistency of service to continuously meet and improve service standards by ensuring all policies, procedures and standards are implemented.
- Assist with maintaining consistent standards in the large base of casual employees by ensuring effective communication and performance management in line with QPAC policies and procedures.
- Assist in the Management of Food & Beverage Team.
- Undertake the recruitment, training and development of the casual workforce, to ensure adherence to QPAC’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and sufficient coverage of specialised skills.
- In conjunction with the Food & Beverage Management Team, ensure rostering and labour management maintains profitability of food and beverage operations.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and participate in the development of new products or service styles.
- Assist the Food & Beverage Management Team in determining the opening requirements for food and beverage outlets to ensure that they meet financial expectations and support the strategic plan.
- Assist the Food and Beverage Management Team to determine function requirements in line with client expectations and profitability.
- Assist in the management of the point-of-sale system including set up of new product lines and menu items, building terminal screens, monthly reporting and analysis of wastage and cash handling, and troubleshooting.
- Use of the rostering system to maintain food and beverage profitability.
- Use of event management software to communicate event and function requirements.
- Use of accounting software to prepare purchase orders.
- Ensure compliance with QPAC’s obligations under: QPAC’s Liquor License and Responsible Service of Alcohol, Food Handling and QPAC’s Food Safety Plan, and Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.

- Demonstrated ability to ensure organisational guidelines and financial targets are met.
- Proven ability to monitor and maintain consistent standards relating to quality, presentation and hygiene ensuring satisfactory guest experience.
- A current nationally accredited RSA or the ability to obtain this within 30 days of commencement.
