Assistant Manager & Lead Educator
Caloundra City Private School owns and operates Pelican’s Nest Early Learning Centre, a well-equipped modern, and conveniently located 75 place long day care centre located on school grounds.
Due to an internal promotion we are now looking for an Assistant Manager to assist the Centre Manager as required. The role will have time on and off the floor to embed new policies and procedures throughout the centre and would ideally suit somone looking for a career step up.

Our Shared Learning Journey
Pelicans Nest is located in the grounds of Caloundra City Private School. It has five rooms catering for children from12 months to Kindergarten age. Our service marks the commencement of a child’s learning journey at Caloundra City Private School so a key role of the Assistant Manager is to integrate the Pelicans Nest families with the school to maximise the learning and play opportunities for the children, creating a seamless transition for children moving from Pelicans Nest through to the commencement of Prep at CCPS.
Requirements.
To be successful in this position, it is expected that you have:
- Diploma in Children Services or Advanced Diploma in Community Service Management or actively working towards
- Extensive lead educator experience and whilst wanting to take the next step to become an Assistant Manager
- Current Blue Card (QLD Working with Children Check)
- Child Protection Training: Identifying and responding to children and young people at risk of harm
- Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificates.
- Comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the NQF and NQS
- Understanding of and commitment to exemplary practice that is informed by the Early Years Learning Framework
- Effective skills in conflict resolution, team building and implementing performance review processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislative policies, standards, and requirements
- Demonstrated ability to build constructive working relationships with families and staff

Remuneration will be negotiable dependent on applicant skills and abilities. Hours and specific roles and responsibilities will be discussed and negotiated at interview level.
