Due to promotion, a unique opportunity has arisen for a suitable candidate to join the Boortmalt team in Australia as an Assistant Production Manager. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be based at our Sydney plant. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career. You will get a chance to work at one of Boortmalt’s most modern malting plants in the world and have contact with domestic and international brewers and distillers. While as the Assistant Production Manager you will learn about and get exposure to all aspects of malt production from SCADA control, supply chain, SAP, quality management and safety system to name a few.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in a science, chemical or engineering related discipline.
- Desirable but not essential to have familiarity with either dairy/food/agriculture or FMCG
- Worked in a teamed based environment
- Worked full time in Australia
- Experience in a role with a degree of responsibility and autonomy
- Hands on practical skills
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support the Production Manager and Production Team in a range of general activities.
- Be accountable for the safety of yourself, your colleagues, customers and contractors
- Ensure food safety and hygiene requirements are followed
- Provide coaching to production workers and guidance on process and procedures where needed.
- Undertake malting process improvements projects.
