About the role
The Assistant Project Officer will undertake a range of administrative and project support activities to support team delivery of the economic transition of coal-reliant regions.
About You
To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Ability to provide a high level of administrative support to the Director and the broader Office of Future Jobs and Investment Authorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good organisation skills to support project management delivery
- Ability to be proactive and manage their own workload and priorities.

The Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW) is the department focussed on protecting and growing primary industries, supporting sustainable land management, overseeing the state’s mineral, mining resources, and ensuring that government investment supports strong regional communities and economies. DRNSW brings together the Department of Primary Industries; Local Land Services; Mining, Exploration and Geoscience; Regional Development; the Regional Growth NSW Development Corporation; NSW Public Works and Soil Conservation Service. We have nearly 5,000 employees, with almost 80 per cent of us living and working in regional NSW.
The Office of Regional Economic Development (ORED) within the Department of Regional NSW under the Regional Development umbrella, leads business attraction, promotion and industry development across regional NSW and oversights the Office of Future Jobs and Investment Authorities. It is the only fully dedicated regional Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) in Australia and provides a range of tailor-made facilitation and information services to investors that are looking to establish or expand in regional NSW to drive economic development and create sustainable jobs of the future. It also responsible for the rollout of Future Jobs and Investment Authorities in coal-reliant regions.
