We are growing at Mount Macedon Winery (MMW) and are looking for a passionate future-leader to join our team as Assistant Venue Manager. We have excitedly re-branded our restaurant ‘UUMM’ which currently showcases a seasonal menu of à la carte dishes. The cellar door currently focuses on a wood-fired menu of pizzas and grazing options. In addition to the weekly trade, we specialise in hosting many weddings, events and large group functions throughout the year. We are looking for a positive and engaging team member to work closely with the two Venue Managers to continue to grow MMW and the development of the incredible team we have.
The role is full-time capacity, on a 5-day work week (either Thursday to Monday or Wednesday to Sunday). We are flexible for the right candidate but due to the trading hours of MMW you must be available to work weekends and nights.
What are we looking for?
First and foremost, we are looking for someone with the right attitude who will bring something special to our team culture and who is excited to be part of the growth of MMW.
Our team, and the role, needs someone who thrives under pressure and maintains a calm presence to assist our Venue Managers in leading the team by example. We want someone who is as passionate about excellent customer service and who can communicate well with the team and customers to provide an exceptional experience at MMW.
What we are offering:
- A great team culture: we work hard but we look after each other and have fun while we do it!
- Exciting growth and opportunities: MMW is growing and for the right person there are future leadership opportunities (if that’s something you’re interested in).
- A picturesque work environment: If you haven’t visited MMW then check out our photos online.
- Flexibility in work scheduling: Given the seasonality of weddings and events, this position does have scope for flexibility during the off-peak season (if that’s something you’re interested in).
- Great Venue Managers to learn from: We know the importance of this, and we believe it’s a huge benefit of the role. Our Venue Managers have recently been internally promoted to these roles and they lead by example for the team and will be supportive, collaborative leaders to learn and master your trade with.
Does this sound like you? If so, let us tell you more about the role and MMW…

- Administration - Monitoring and responding to the main email account, assistance with roster creation and working with Directors on any exciting new projects that MMW have in the pipeline.
At MMW we firmly believe that we can teach someone the technical parts of the role, but we can’t teach the right attitude and cultural fit. If this position and the opportunity to grow within your role sounds appealing to you, we would love to hear from you!
