The Associate DirectorCyber Security (CISO) is a critical role within the senior leadership team. It will be accountable for the ongoing development and implementation of a Cyber Security strategy and associated program of work, as well as frameworks, policies and guidelines for handling information. The role will also ensure compliance to regulatory and legal obligations.
This will contribute to building organisational resilience, enabling UOW's digital future and to be a trusted partner across all its geographies.
Your deep understanding and expertise in the detection, response and mitigation of Cyber Security threats will be instrumental in protecting sensitive and critical data, people, assets and in ensuring the integrity of the university. Your understanding of network security principals, vulnerabilities, procedures, techniques and the roles they play will be paramount in the provision of secure digital services across a complex environment. Critical will be your experience with increasing awareness of Cyber Security across the institution and creating a cyber-aware culture for our staff and students alike. That culture will ultimately be inherent in both their work and private lives.
This position will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the organisations security program is integrated with other key business processes and to proactively identify areas for enhancement and risk mitigation in line with relevant regulations and industry standards.
About you
Applicants must meet the selection criteria requirements for this role, including, but not limited to:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Cyber Security leadership role
- Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- A working knowledge across a broad range of security technologies including encryption, multifactor authentication, endpoint protection, IDS/IPS, PCI, access control, vulnerability management toolsets, malware defences, protective monitoring, physical security controls.
- Demonstrate a passion for improving Cyber Security awareness for an organisation.
- Experience in navigating and operating across a complex organisational environment comprising Australian and international operations.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
