The Women's & Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being South Australia's largest maternity and obstetric service, and statewide Maternal Fetal Medicine service.
Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.
The Division of Surgical Services coordinates and manages support to the surgical departments and units of the WCH. The hospital is the main referral centre for complex paediatric surgical conditions, for South Australia, the Northern Territory and some regional centres in Eastern Victoria and Eastern New South Wales and supports a clinical and basic science research and teaching program.

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists within the Peri Operative Services Department to join the team as Associate Nurse Unit Manager (RN2A) on a full-time, ongoing basis.
In this role, you will provide support to the Nursing/Midwifery Unit Manager or equivalent in the leadership of nurses/midwives in the ward/unit/service.
Employees in this role will undertake a portfolio within which they will:
- Promote continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with other AN/MUM and the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent;
- Assist the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in the implementation of practice changes; and
- Assist the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in undertaking ward/unit/service management responsibilities, eg. Performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management; financial and supplies planning and monitoring.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registration or be eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
- Working experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife
- Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses
- Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
