You take pride in making sure your installed AV systems work as intended. You understand how the small details matter and you get a real buzz when customers love your work.
Maybe you are an AV system designer already or perhaps you are an experienced AV system installer who has taken responsibility for a range of technical aspects of your installed systems. Maybe you are looking to move to a role where you can influence the design before it is installed.
At DIBAV we place great emphasis on achieving the optimum solutions for our customers. This means we like to design AV systems that are highly efficient and simple to use.
Before we start the design process we like to have a very good understanding of the customer and their intended applications. If customers are unsure about their use case we dig with questions and experience to help determine the best solution. If we can save them money and achieve their desired outcomes then that is part of what we do. We treat the customer’s money like it was our own and view all our design considerations from that viewpoint.
You will need to be AV technical. You should have technical training in your background or AV technical installation and support experience across a wide range of technologies and brands. You should be familiar with audio and video signals, their types, methods of distribution and limitations. You should be familiar with different display technologies and their applications as well as sound systems.
It’s OK if you don’t know it all (no one does), but you should have a strong basis of product knowledge and technical understanding and you should be a faster learner, and keen to learn.
You need to be willing and able to take on new ideas as to how things can be done. If you only want to do it your way then that will be a barrier to success.
You will be working as an AV designer, alongside client facing account managers who will rely on you to facilitate the technical design process and project costing. Your role will involve scoping and design meetings with customers and these will largely be conducted virtually via video conference. The conclusion of your design will normally be a project proposal - fully costed and ready to present to the customer.
Project installations include everything from classrooms, gyms, and halls to sports facilities, community centres, libraries, theatres, churches, and more; although you need not be familiar with all these environments.
Your success will be measured by the quality of your designs as well as their success in becoming live projects.
Our team values are driven by:
- Respectful - to all we deal with
- Honesty - with all we deal with
- Really cares about the customer and their needs
- Determined to make things go right - sense of urgency
- Pride in our work
- Competitive - always raising the bar
