The Policy and Governance Branch, within the Shared Services Division (SSD), consists of three sections: Governance and Risk, Policy and Planning, and Performance Assurance and Enablement. These sections provide a range of policy advice, assurance and risk management, financial management, and strategic governance to support the delivery of shared services to our clients across the Australian Public Service.
The Performance, Assurance and Enablement Team is responsible for engaging and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to provide strategic advice on and ensure compliance with organisational risk, audit, and Assurance standards. This team lead the Service Delivery Office (SDO) audit activities, including forward audit planning to facilitate the achievement of SDO business objectives.
The SDO is a leader in providing shared services under the Whole-of-Australian-Government Shared Services. The SDO completes assurance activities on the services ad reports results to clients periodically. These reports provide SDO’s client agencies with assurance that controls were met and feeds into the client agencies end of Financial Statement audit sign off. The SDO have matured its audit activities and continues to find innovative ways to provide assurance business processes are met and risks are mitigated.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Division is seeking a high performing APS 6 to strategically coordinate internal and external audit activities and provide advice on risk management for the Service Delivery Office. Under general direction, the Audit, Risk and Assurance Coordinator will be required to provide advice to stakeholders on risk management, audit and Assurance, and business continuity. They are responsible for leading and actioning complex day-to-day activities, the core duties for this position includes:
- The coordination of ANAO activities,
- Reporting periodic outcomes through governance committees,
- Developing and monitoring the agreed audit report recommendations and ability to define internal audit scope,
- Conduct internal audit reviews,
- Annual review of the SDO Audit Protocol and establishment of the SDO Audit Plan,
- Document internal audit findings.
