About the role
The Authorised Officer works with the Customer Team to ensure the safety and efficiency of the passengers on the network.
You’ll use your exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills to create a safe and smooth operating environment.
Key Accountabilities include:
- As a member of the Customer team, an Authorised Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day reporting of offences under the Transport Act with a focus on anti-social behaviour particularly on late night Friday and Saturday services and special events.
- Report all offences detected and submit relevant reports in an accurate; timely manner and ensure all reports are of the highest standard in order for successful prosecution to take place.
- Provide a high degree of Customer Service to ensure an informative, safe and friendly environment for the V/Line passengers Be an integral part in providing customers a high degree of service to ensure an informative, trouble-free, and safe journey.
- Assist management in preparing for and responding to operational incident/emergency response.
About you

- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent education and/or experience
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Experience in dealing with difficult / confrontational situations including de-escalating volatile situations to ensure safety highly regarded
- Able to work under pressure and make decisions quickly in stressful situations

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019 / Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2019).
