RPMGlobal is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our Customer Infrastructure Team and is to be responsible for implementing and maintaining cloud solutions within Microsoft Azure. You will also be required to provide technical guidance to our customers and RPM internal teams on best practices and emerging trends in cloud computing.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Brisbane CBD office.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on Azure.
- Configure and manage Azure services including Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure Active Directory, and others.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.
- Implement and enforce security best practices.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to ensure optimal resource utilization.
- Plan and execute disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
- Mitigate potential risks and ensure uninterrupted operation of critical systems.
- Stay updated on emerging Azure technologies and industry trends.
- Support and mentor junior team members.
About You
- Proficiency in Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) including Azure Administrator AZ104 certification.
- Prior experience in an IT Network Engineer or Cloud Engineer role.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience in a similar role.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills paired with a team-player attitude.
- Exceptional customer service focus, with a proactive and solution-based approach.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing Azure cloud solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Azure services, networking concepts, security principles, and best practices.
- Experience should include:
- Azure App Services, Kubernetes/AKS required.
- Azure Landing zones, blueprints, load balancers, Azure Firewall, Front Door.
- FortiGate Firewalls will be an advantage
- Scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, etc.
- Infrastructure as Code tools required (e.g. – Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep)
- DevOps and CI/CD tools
- High attention to detail.
- Advanced English communication skills.
- Legally entitled to work in Australia.
