With this, they are seeking a Work Health and Safety advisor who can assist the infrastructure branch to operate safely and minimise the incidence of harm through work related injury, illness, or dangerous events.
Your new role
The purpose of your role is to provide professional advice and support to improve Health and Safety in the workplace.
Additional key accountabilities:
- Work in partnership with your Senior Adviser and Delivery Manager to agreed performance standards and mutual expectations.
- Design, conduct and evaluate targeted workplace Health and Safety training, induction, hazard awareness and job specific risk management programs
- Monitor and audit workplace Health and Safety management system practices and procedures and provide strategies for achieving compliance with workplace Health and Safety legislation requirements.
- Investigate and report on high potential and actual incidents involving serious harm, work related ill Health and dangerous events, to meet legislative requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will have the ability to obtain a work safely in the construction industry certification (White card). Moreover, you have knowledge, experience, and ability to apply the relevant Work Health and Safety legislations, policies, and procedures in the field. Additionally, you have the ability to provide workplace Health and Safety services to businesses, including monitoring performance, producing reports, analysing data, identifying trends and proposing strategies to continually improve performance. You will also ideally have Tertiary Qualification in OHS or related discipline and relevant work experience.
