Brewski/My Beer Dealer is on the hunt for a new team member. We are proudly celebrating our 11th year at our HQ in Caxton Street this year. We have a massive year planned with 50+ stadium events, countless beer events and going hard on our unique function space offerings. You will be joining a business growing in all things trading in good booze: Bottle shops, online and new offerings at our HQ, giving the right person unique opportunities to grow with a diverse, but proudly independent business. We don’t expect you to know everything just a willingness to learn from a nurturing, experienced team. And remember we aren’t just about beer, we are about all good booze.
What’s in it for you?
For the right candidate we are looking to build a new role of Venue Manager or if your experience isn't there just yet, start out as Bar Manager with a plan to develop into Venue Manager. You will work collaboratively with the owners, ensuring decisions can be made efficiently and you will be supported when times get hectic. We already have an experienced team to work with, but need someone who can own the role of ensuring our bar/drink-in bottle shop runs smoothly and keeps being awesome.
You will enjoy booze and food perks, autonomy and be given great responsibility. It will involve weekends and night shifts.
Remuneration will be commensurate with life experiences and relevant/relatable experience.
What do we want from you?
- You will be a warm and engaging personality (your mum would say you were born an optimist)
- Have strong leadership attributes (you know and possess all it takes to be a progressive, modern leader: lead by doing, integrity, empathy, gratitude, courage, humility…the good stuff)
- A multitasker under pressure (yes you can serve two people at once when it gets busy and give both customers great service)
- A problem solver who sees challenges as an opportunity to show your creative (but pragmatic) side
- You have hobbies/interest outside of work that help keep you balanced (and refreshed/focussed for your work-life)
- Show a love of good booze or a keen willingness to learn about all things beer and independent booze, and have a banging sense of humour.
Being a small team the role does include all the usual bartending duties like pouring the perfect beer and serving up the perfect cocktail; keeping us clean and tidy at all times; taking care of our customers with love; helping to manage all our online platforms including: untappd, beer crawl, now book it, chewzie, our POS + more, so knowing your way around a computer is a massive advantage. Past experience in managing functions will also help.
We would love a minimum of 4 years experience in a hospitality environment, show experience of working independently, leading teams and can start in the next two weeks.
