This position provides a challenging role with a combination of secretarial and administrative activities. This position provides efficient and effective administrative support and secretarial duties to the Head of Department for the Emergency Department and supports other Medical Officers within the department as required.This position works under limited direction and guidance with regard to work priorities. Functions carried out may be complex in nature and require judgement in selecting and applying established principles, techniques and methods. This can include but not restricted to legislation, regulation, instructions, policies, procedures and guidelines.
The associated duties include providing secretarial support to the Head of Department and other Senior Medical Practitioners, diary management & meeting coordination for the department, payroll activities & processes, TESL oversight, bookings of conference, taking & typing meeting minutes, preparing presentations to support the department, correspondence, distribution of teaching material, and other general administrative duties as required.Administrative support will be required across campuses for Blacktown Mount Druitt Hospital (BMDH) Emergency Department.People with disabilities who meet the selection criteria are encouraged to apply; and where required, WSLHD will implement reasonable adjustment consistent with industry standard.Stepping Up aims to assist Aboriginal job applicants by providing information about applying for roles in NSW Health organisations. - Demonstrated high level communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent time management and advanced organisation skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with all levels of staff and the general public, including those from varied disciplines and backgrounds.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision as well as being an effective and efficient team member demonstrating initiative, judgement and analytic skills.
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft office, knowledge of medical terminology, drafting correspondence, minute taking and supporting meetings and committees.
- Knowledge of the functions and services associated with working in a hospital or health environment.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn computer packages such as HPECM, VMoney and iPM.
