Connection & Activities Coordinator
Boarding (Resident)

We are seeking a dynamic motivated candidate who is responsible for creating healthy and active experiences for Boarders to enhance Connection and community. This includes organizing a program of events on both weekdays and weekends (term time). Provision of onsite accommodation, power and access to internet (even during school holidays). Meals are provided during school term time when working in Boarding. This role is well suited to someone looking to balance work and study and enjoy school holidays off.
Reporting to the Head of Boarding this role requires strong interpersonal skills, initiative and well-developed organisational skills. Empathy with boarding students and the ability to relate well to adolescents is critical.
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Take responsibility for organising a successful activities program for the Boarding students
- Liaise with Head of Boarding and Head of Students, Research and Engagement to ensure good communication of the organised program
- Connect with Big Sisters and the Boarding Student Council representatives to gain feedback about events and Activities
- Undertake all bookings required in relation to activities (after school and weekends)
- Support staff in effectively supervising weekend activities
- Ensure all activities are properly managed and undertaken in a safe and supervised manner
- Work with the Head of Boarding to fulfill Risk Assessment requirements
- Utilise Boarding software and social media as a communication tool to communicate with parents, staff and students about the activity programs.
- Undertake regular roll calls according to the specified roll check times
- Organise and supervise two lunchtime activities to assist with the engagement and connection of day girls with boarders
- Energise and motivate students to take healthy risks and get involved in activities
- Liase with Catering staff in order to provide nutritious snacks during events
- Take necessary first aid requirements on all activities
- On call support will be required in times of need throughout each term
