The Role
The Boilermaker is responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, metal components or other material structures for power station construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine the requirements for the job.
- Use various hand and power tools, such as welding torches, grinders, saws, and drills, to cut, shape, and join metal pieces.
- Install and repair components and or various other material structures.
- Conduct routine maintenance on workshop components and other equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Ensure that all work is done according to safety guidelines and regulations.
- Communicate with team members to ensure the project is completed on time and to the required standards.
- Keep a record of all work performed and materials used.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Participate in safety meetings and training programs, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for compliance with OHS policies.
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and support staff to ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Relevant Trade Certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a boilermaker or in a related field.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, sketches, and engineering specifications.
- Proficient in Mig and Tig welding
- Mechanical fitting experience desirable.
- Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of safety guidelines and regulations.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills.
