A fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and dedicated finance professional to join one of Australia's longest standing and leading architectural firms. This role is crucial in overseeing the finance department's strategic direction to align with the practice's objectives and strategic initiatives. Your responsibilities will include upholding the integrity of our accounting records, supervising payroll systems, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Additionally, you will offer essential support to the Directors, Principal and Project Management team on day-to-day tasks. This role requires someone who can work both autonomously and be a team player, and who can think and operate at a senior level, but is happy to get their hands dirty and do the more junior tasks when required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable, invoicing and monthly payroll
- Prepare monthly financial reports for the management team, including P&L and balance sheets
- Work closely with principals and project managers to monitor project performance
- Prepare Business Activity Statements and monthly Payroll Tax lodgements
- Prepare Annual Payroll Reconciliation Reports
- Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts
- Assist the Principal with cash flow management
Skills & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field is required
- Demonstrative experience in a similar, varied, end-to-end Finance role within a consulting or service-providing business
- Experience overseeing end-to-end payroll
- Solid understanding of Excel and Xero
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tight deadlines
- Highly motivated, with a positive can-do attitude
- Good communication skills, and an ability to think outside the box
