About the opportunity
We are excited to have opened our new Blacktown Exercise Sport and Technology Hub (BEST). This transformational project includes a state-of-the-art centre for health, education, and sport, as well as The Lodge hotel and a brand new Physical Literacy space for the community. BEST complements the existing facilities within the sports park which house sports such as AFL, Cricket, Softball, Baseball, Soccer and Athletics.
This is a newly created permanent, full-time role primarily responsible for assisting and supporting the daily operations at BEST. This position will report to the Venue Experience Supervisor due to their close operational relationship and the large volume of tenant, hirer and Community engagement. An ideal candidate will also support the Bookings and Administration Officer Outdoor Sports Facilities BISP with leave cover as required (and vice versa).
Duties include:
- Respond to phone, in person and online inquiries regarding use of BEST hub, the outdoor synthetic and turf pitches, AFL/Cricket function room, onsite hotel and catering provider at BISP
- Monthly liaison with tenants to gather accurate booking and event information for BEST, the outdoor synthetic pitch, AFL/Cricket function room
- Manage all bookings within the centralised booking system for BEST and ensure this system remains up-to-date
- Through the Venue Experience Supervisor, support administration requirements at BEST and associated facilities.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Certificate IV in a related field or equivalent
- Extensive experience in a customer service role
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Current class C driver's licence
- Current First Aid qualification.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
- Computer literate including the use of cloud based booking platforms
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Availability to work flexible working hours.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,452.48 per week
- 35-hour working week
