Newlands Group is a family-owned, Toowoomba based business specialising in Civil and Commercial construction. Newlands build infrastructure to enrich our communities; infrastructure that people use to live, work, study and play in every day.
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller you assist them in all accounting and finance tasks.
Scope of the role:
The scope of this role is constantly evolving so you will need to be comfortable with change, but primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Data entry and recording of financial transactions on a daily basis for multiple entities
Management of the Accounts Receivable function including the raising of invoices and collection of payments and monthly reconciliations
Assist and support the Accounts Payable function
Assist and support the Payroll function
Provide backup support for the Accounts Payable and Accounting functions as required
Oversee and manage the monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Assist the Financial Controller with monthly financial and performance reports for the board and management
ADHOC duties as required
Liaising with non-financial project management teams to assist them in completing the jobs
Complete daily cash flow reports
Assist with BAS/IAS/Payroll Tax preparation
The experience and skills we would like you to have include:
A minimum of 5 years demonstrated, relevant work history and experience in bookkeeping in an Australian small to medium business environment is essential
An ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Excellent communication, interpersonal and English language skills
Very high level of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
Excellent Microsoft Office skills including at least an intermediate level in Excel
Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
MYOB Advantage experience
Must be a self-starter being able to work autonomously whilst also being able to be part of a diverse team of people
Must have good time management skills and be highly dependable
