Established in 1840, Sandalford’s vineyards and winery are part of the family-owned Prendiville Group (prendiville.com.au). Situated in the Swan Valley, 25 minutes from Perth’s CBD, Sandalford Wines delights visitors with world class wine and tourism experiences at its restaurant, function and banqueting division, cellar door and concert operations.
We currently have an opening for an experienced Building Maintenance Person (full time) to assist with the coordination of all BUILDING MAINTENANCE, service and repairs on the Sandalford Estate, Swan Valley.
THE ROLE:
We are looking to recruit a hardworking, skilled and capable individual with handyman experience to facilitate the reactive and planned maintenance services at our award winning tourism winery.You will ensure the Estate buildings and plant are maintained to the highest standards (this role does not include grounds or vineyard work).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Plan, schedule and deliver maintenance work ensuring duties are carried out in a timely manner with an emphasis on quality, effectiveness, value for money and safety;
- Assist with ensuring all public building health statutory requirements are compliant;
- Inspect and arrange the inspection, maintenance and repair of tools and machinery;
- Ensure facilities are presented in the best possible standard;
- Ensure occupational health and safety policies for staff, customers and contractors are adhered to and ensure hazards are identified, assessed and controlled;
- Liaise with various departments to ensure readiness and seamless delivery of functions and special events; and
- Provide assistance with ensuring whatever time of the year the Estate “sparkles” and operates without delay, disruption and or unnecessary inconvenience to customers and staff.
ABOUT YOU:
- Minimum of 5 years practical general maintenance and repairs experience on a large scale business property;
- A thorough knowledge of building standards, codes and compliance requirements across all trades;
- The ability to uphold high standards, ensuring consistency with Sandalford's brand standards and service culture;
- Quality workmanship and excellent attention to detail;
- Have an absolute ‘can-do’ attitude with a hands-on approach;
- Sound computer skills;
- Ability to multi task, think on your feet and find solutions quickly; and
- Have the capability to work autonomously and efficiently.
This position requires your willingness and availability to work flexible working hours, and may include some weekend days during the necessary demand periods.
