About this opportunity
The opportunity has arisen for a Building Maintenance Team Leader to coordinate and participate in the day-to-day maintenance operations and lead a small team, ensuring the resort presents to a high standard and we deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Reporting to the Building Maintenance Manager, this full-time role will see you work Friday - Tuesday, and is a hands-on active role in a dynamic fast paced hotel/resort environment. Your key responsibilities for the role include:
- Maintain reliable and effective buildings, plant and equipment in a safe, compliant, efficient and cost-effective manner
- Ensuring the efficient operation, repairs, maintenance, modification and installation of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, fire systems, kitchen equipment, audio and visual, laundry, internal and external lighting, and other plant and equipment and contractor management in buildings
- Leading a small team to promote a positive & safe team culture and overseeing effective performance management
- Lead team meetings, managing staff roster & Kronos, labour costs, recruitment, training, induction, performance management, reward & recognition
- Deliver exceptional customer service to our guests and build strong relationships with key stakeholders to improve the way we operate, plan & execute maintenance activity, whilst minimising disruptions to guests
- Manage onsite contractors, ensuring they are working safely to RACV safety systems, including conducting appropriate safety audits, risk assessments as required
- Report and control hazards & risks as per HSW policy & procedures
- Undertake predictive and preventative maintenance tasks to improve equipment reliability, facilities, and accommodation room availability
- Provide input to the maintenance planning activities and ensure all maintenance tasks are efficiently planned, managed and completed to a high standard and promoting safe work practices
- Monitor BMS systems, rectify alarms and ensure building systems are operating efficiently and cost effectively
- Identify opportunities to make process improvements to reduce costs and improve customer service
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Previous general repairs and maintenance experience in an integrated resort development or hotel/resort environment
- Operational knowledge and experience in facilities maintenance - repairs, maintenance, modification and installation of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, fire systems, kitchen equipment, audio and visual, laundry, internal and external lighting, and other plant and equipment and contractor management
- Strong leadership skills encouraging teamwork and can lead by example
- Experience in staff recruitment, training, appraisal, counselling and development
- Proficient using computers, MS Office, Outlook. BMS, an advantage
- Ability to plan, multitask, be proactive, flexible, capable & resourceful, work well in a team, under pressure and prioritise in a fast paced demanding hospitality hotel/resort environment
- Strong communication skills including guest facing customer service and stakeholder management. Coordinating contractors to issue and review JSA/SWMS/General and High-Risk Permits.
- Excellent Personal presentation
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role including heavy lifting
