Coorong District Council is one of the largest and most diverse in South Australia. Spread over 8,832 square kilometres we are perfectly located one hour from the Adelaide CBD via the South Eastern Freeway and offer an escape to open spaces, river, beaches and national parks.

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic team player/leaders to fill Multiple Positions in our Roads & Infrastructure team in these permanent positions.

The positions are responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with providing our residents of the Coorong District Council with a comprehensive and well-maintained road and infrastructure network.

About you:

• Experience in Grader operations and road maintenance and construction.
• Computer literacy skills.
• Driving a positive culture within the team.
• Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic, with an ability to maintain diplomacy and professionalism with a customer service focus.
• Maintenance and minor repairs plant and machinery.
• Support and relief functions of other roads & infrastructure duties.

About the position:

• Preferred experience in civil construction with HR and relevant licences for plant and equipment
• Good interpersonal, communication, problem solving and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to comply with Work Health Safety (WHS) and Injury Management (IM) requirements and report incidents and hazards in the workplace to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
• Some shift work will be required.
• Some working away from home may be required.
