Building Surveyor

Job Title: Building Surveyor
Location: South East Melbourne  
Work Type: Full Time
Salary: $120k- $140k + Car + Super

Our client, a local Council is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their high performing team. This Surveyor will report to the Deputy Municipal Building Surveyor, and requires liaising with the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors and Victorian Building Authority.
 
About the role:
The Building Surveyor will:

• Assist with enquires and applications and ensure that staff administers the relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes applicable to those applications
• Lead building inspectors and technical staff in particular on legislation and resolve issues as they arise
• Plan, co-ordinate and prioritise performance and delivery of work
• Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
• Maintain an accurate electronic register of Enforcement matters, inspections conducted and report monthly

 
About you:
To succeed in this role you will have:

• The ability to understand, interpret and implement legislation and regulations
• Knowledge of the Victorian building system
• Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying with significant and diverse industry experience
• A current registration as a building practitioner with the Victorian Building Authority in the category of Building Surveyor Unlimited (BS-U).
• Relevant experience in commercial and residential assessment of building permit applications.
