Position Overview: In this role, you will primarily be responsible for promoting and protecting a standard of building quality that meets with community expectations through construction certificate assessments and provision of building inspections for both the natural and built environment.
This can involve providing professional advice to Council, the public, major developers and government authorities. You will also be involved with maintaining an efficient and dependable approval system and building inspection service, assessment and issuing of complying development certificates, building construction certificates and swimming pool compliance certificates. Who we are looking for: Council is seeking a dedicated individual who has a solid understanding of the Local Government NSW Planning legislation and other associated legislation, along with experience in building surveying.
The successful candidate will also have strong customer service skills with the ability to negotiate, liaise and mediate outcomes with customers. An accreditation of Building Surveyor – restricted (class 1-10 building) under the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018 is required.
