THE ROLE
The Building Surveyor is responsible for carrying out required assessments
against the relevant State’s building regulations and requirements, and
delivering the required reports/findings.
DUTIES
- Assessment of a range of building permit applications.
- Inspections and reporting as required.
- Attend design meetings as directed.
- Assist Managers/Directors in developing and managing practice policy and procedures.
- Work within a project team environment relating effectively with other team members.
- Support for administration staff with the following matters when they are absent or occupied, answer telephones, screen calls, take messages and expedite delivery of messages to Directors and Staff.
- Communicate design solutions in graphic and written media.
- Undertake status reports for clients and government departments.
- Updating of critical project files.
- Ensuring appropriate workflow in the office.
- Other Duties as Requested.
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying.
- Minimum Building Surveying Practitioner Technician or Level 2 Building Surveying registration in Western Australia.
- Assessment of building rules applications.
- Manage projects within a strategic Risk Management framework.
- Identify client needs and develop and articulate a project brief.
- Demonstrated ability to control difficult applications.
- Sound understanding of the statutory framework within which buildings are designed.
