Looking for a challenging and rewarding role in building surveying and compliance? We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join our team.
As a Building Surveyor, you'll be responsible for assessing and processing a range of building applications, including those of a complex nature, ensuring compliance with the Building Act, Building Code of Australia, Community Planning Scheme, and related policies, local laws, and regulations. You’ll also be providing your best practice technical advice and expertise to both our internal and external customers.
You'll play a key role in ensuring building records and information systems are correct and up to date. This will involve carrying out site inspections to assess compliance of building approvals with the Building Code of Australia and statutory controls.
In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you'll develop and provide reports with recommendations on building applications to the Manager of Building and Environmental Health Services. You'll work closely with other members of the team to ensure that appropriate action is taken in line with established policies and practices, with the aim of maintaining a strong customer service.

Essential Qualifications:
- Essential – Tertiary qualification in Building Surveying or equivalent.
- Essential - Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
- Essential - White Card.
- Desirable – Level 2 Building Surveyor Qualification.
- Previous experience in a Building Surveyor role.
- Experience in the application of the Building Act, Building Code of Australia, building practices and statutory requirements.
Skills and Experience Required:
- High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Well developed decision making and problem solving skills.
- Ability to interpret maps and plans.
- Good team work and team building skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload, maintain flexibility, meet deadlines and drive projects
