What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Business Analysis – Practice Lead you’ll be involved in:
- Working with product managers to scout out new domains, make sense of them and document learnings that feed into delivery
- Assisting product managers with the elicitation and documentation of requirements and needs in various formats, e.g. user story mapping, process diagrams, user stories
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and partners, to understand their needs, expectations and requirements
- Facilitating workshops to establish a shared understanding of a problem to be solved and the Why’s behind it, and the scope and priority of relevant features on our roadmap
- Collecting and analysing information and data to identify problems and opportunities, and evaluating options
- Working with stakeholders to validate that devised solutions meet their needs and expectations
- Acting as a bridge between product managers, other stakeholders and the development team, facilitating effective communication, and negotiating solutions that meet the needs of stakeholders while being technically feasible
- Supporting implementation by clarifying ambiguity in requirements, and working with the development team to ensure the solution is implemented as planned
- Ensuring the quality of the developed solution meet intended business objectives over stated requirements
- Helping develop and implement continuous process improvements and best practices
Who we’re looking for

- An inquisitive mind not afraid to ask questions to completely understand the big picture and the full detail
- Pro-active self-starter, ready to identify issues and propose solutions
- Articulate with the ability to guide cross-functional meetings to desired outcomes
- Good business acumen and focus on business outcomes over technicalities
- A team player who has worked shoulder to shoulder with product, design and engineering team members in software delivery, and appreciates the different perspectives that those team members bring to the table
- A background in working on digital, SaaS or mobile projects desirable
- Tertiary qualification related to IT / software development desirable
What your impact and success looks like
As a Business Analyst we expect your success and impact in the early stages of your career with us to look something like this:
Within 1 month:
- Become familiar with the environment in which the Business Analyst operates, in terms of the business, people, teams, tools and processes
- Develop initial relationships with stakeholders in general
- Acquire a fundamental understanding of our products
- Contribute to ongoing initiatives, and produce first analysis artefacts out of initial involvements with projects
Within 3 months:
- Establish effective relationships with the product manager and other stakeholders in assigned areas
- Facilitate and provide valuable input to discussions in workshops, and strive for clarity by asking questions
- Present analysis findings and suggestions with guidance
- Achieve small wins in delivering business outcomes
- Identify areas for improvement and propose plans to address
Within 6 months:
- Be able to independently handle assignments
- Make meaningful impact on project directions through analysis and recommendations
- Deliver on a number of sizable projects
