The opportunity
We are seeking for a Business Analyst to join our company with a highly experienced team working together to develop and provide solutions to our client’s site. You will assist with growth objectives by providing oversight to existing operations, analyse the financial and physical performance of assets, and provide insight to new business opportunties and other strategic initiatives. You will follow a data and information-driven approach to support improvements and changes to the operating system and workflows. The role will provide ongoing support and will be based in our office in Brisbane CBD with an occasional site visit.
What the role entails
• Identify different types of data that need tracking to improve business performance.
• Present easy-to-interpret reports identifying trends and insights that effectively translate complex data to support effective decision-making.
• Assess data quality, identify data anomalies (gap analysis) and cleanse it
• Engage with a wide range of internal and external customers to improve and promote the effective management, analysis and reporting of data
• Support improved procedural manuals for all affected departments.
• Work with department managers to create data collection guidelines for internal use.
• Collaborate with the Project team to gather business requirements and convert them into technical requirements
• Supporting the team other duties as required
What you will need
• Relevant Tertiary Qualifications
• Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within mining or heavy industry
• Demonstrated well-developed skills in Excel and BI tools (e.g PowerBI)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills with an ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
