Position Overview: 

As we continue to push the boundaries of cancer surgery, we are seeking a high-performing and outcome-focused person to join us as Business Analyst to bring commercial insights across the business to support our commercialisation ambitions. This newly created, exciting and rare role will combine strategic mindset with commercial acumen, strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, to play an important role in supporting the shaping and execution of our commercial strategy in the US and Australian markets to deliver maximum growth, including business development and funding activities in-line with our strategic and operational plans. A highly collaborative role, working within a dynamic commercial team, this position has a key role to drive commercial insights cross-functionally to support commercialisation of exciting new medical products.

This role will also support OncoRes Medical’s business development efforts and ecosystem partners, helping to champion change and bring impact to our sector, our community and our future.

Responsibilities:

Commercial and strategic insight

  • Oversee and provide leadership in producing commercial insights across OncoRes Medical’s operations to positively impact patient care.
  • Provide commercial support to OncoRes Medical’s commercialisation strategy in the areas of regulatory affairs, reimbursement, market and competitive landscape research.
  • Provide predictive modelling and forecasting to commercial and funding initiatives

Marketing, Business Development and Funding Support

  • Assist in key funding initiatives, e.g. equity raises, grant funding and shareholder communications including material creation and documentation, pitching and fostering stakeholder relationships.
  • Support strategic marketing initiatives to position the company as a leader in the medical field.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships to advance OncoRes’ mission.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively across teams, including commercial, clinical and technical, to integrate commercial insight into organisational initiatives, playing a key bridging role with the technical teams, to assess and support commercial analyses.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align commercial and funding strategies with overall business goals.
  • Provide general strategic and operational support to the Executive Officers

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A bachelor's degree (science, business or combined) in Science, Engineering, Medicine, Finance or Business. A combined or advanced degree (MSc / MD / PhD / MBA) would be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 years of sector relevant experience, e.g. in finance / strategic or management consulting, or at a VC/funds management firm.
  • Understanding of the life science and healthcare industry including business models and IP considerations would be an advantage.
  • Sound analytical, written and technical skills, including proficiency in financial modelling and analyses. Strong data skills.
  • Proficient with the use of business intelligence tools, MS365 (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including demonstrated ability to:
    • translate complex data into informed commercial recommendations.
    • translate complex scientific or technical concepts into clearly understandable messages for a wide variety of stakeholders including partners, surgeons, researchers, patients and the general public.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships to support business growth.
  • Excellent project management skills. Ability to easily balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. 
  • Personal Attributes: a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team. Innovative, pro-active, creative and have a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • A strong motivation to make real-world impact for patients undergoing cancer surgery and to solve healthcare problems through the development and adoption of innovative medical solutions.
