Business Development And Industry Engagement Manager

Our exclusive client is a growing retirement and aged care media, events and training group supporting positive ageing. They deliver consumer websites, training portals, research, industry newsletters and events. They are proud of their reputation for quality and innovation. Thanks to expanding demand in multiple areas of the business, they need to add to the team.

They are located in the inner west of Sydney, with offices on the water.  The role is hybrid, with generally 3 core days in the office per week.

Part of the group is a professional development organisation offering an ongoing program for Retirement Village and Community Managers, Head Office Staff, and Executives designed to upskill and build a career path within the sector.

The role is responsible for retaining existing clients of the client and growing participant numbers through sourcing new client opportunities as well as driving event registrations.

Working closely with the Director and the wider team, the successful candidate must be capable at pitching to small and large organizations, closing deals, and look at ways to improve the overall client experience.

From prospecting, pitching and closing, our client is seeking someone who can discover new customers that can drive high volume registration outcomes to the business. This role is open to flexible work pattern - either full time or 0.8.

Position Responsibilities 

• Establish relationships from the client's database to identify leads, including previous customers.
• Research and understand client and non-client needs for staff professional Development and training to identify growth opportunities for the program.
• Build and maintain a sales pipeline of clients and provide regular reporting against related sales targets
• Represent the client at specific professional development days, events and any related webinars.
• Deliver on agreed revenue in line with monthly and quarterly sales targets.
• Present monthly reports on pipeline and progress of new sales, retention, and lead activity.
• Contribute to the marketing of the client to ensure all avenues are explored to attract and retain clients
   

Essential

• Strong experience in Business Development, Account Management or Sales experience.
• Knowledge of the seniors living, retirement village or aged care sector.
• Demonstrated ability in new Business Development, conversion and negotiation.
• Proven skills in cross selling, building quality relationships and engaging stakeholders effectively.
• Committed team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A self-starter and strategic thinker that likes to problem solve.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
