- Employment Term: Full time, 24-month max term contract with view to permanency beyond this timeframe

An integral part of our Disability Employment Services team, the Business Development Leader will execute a range of activities to support the achievement of key deliverables outlined in business expansion, financial sustainability and operational plans for Project SEARCH, UnitingCare’s Transition to Work program for young adults with a disability.
The Project SEARCH program is a unique, business-led, one-year employment preparation program that takes place entirely at a Host Workplace. Total workplace immersion facilitates a seamless combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training through worksite rotations and provides young people with an intellectual disability successful and supported entry into the workforce.
Your part in our UnitingCare Community team
The purpose of this position is to establish new Project SEARCH program sites across Queensland and drive the referral stream of participants into programs. This will include strategic identification and assessment of potential new partners, executing partnership arrangements, supporting the implementation of new program sites, establishing referral pathways for new participants, leading marketing and promotional activities for the program and working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high quality services to young people with a disability.
- Lead, achieve and report on core activities within the Program’s Business Development / expansion project, ensuring that key deliverables in relation to site implementation and participant referrals are accomplished within set timeframes, budget parameters and NDIS Practice Standards.
- Plan and undertake activities supporting expansion strategies including coordinating project activities within the expansion plan through independent completion of oversight of project resources.
- Develop and maintain effective networks, relationships and partnerships both internally and externally to the organisation, particularly in relation to Project SEARCH partners’ / host sites, government bodies, community and other organisations that will support Program expansion and the delivery of quality client outcomes.
- Strategically identify, assess and recommend suitable new partners as Host Businesses for Project SEARCH programs.
- In conjunction with the Service Manager, execute partnership agreements with Host Businesses, ensuring alignment with the Project SEARCH model fidelity and UnitingCare’s commitment to delivering high quality employment services to people with a disability.
- Perform a range of activities to support the successful establishment of new program sites including providing advice to Host Businesses regarding program implementation processes and facilitating introductions to Project SEARCH team members.
- Establish pathways to generate a consistent flow of new participant referrals to new and existing program sites ensuring participant intake and growth targets are achieved.
- Lead the development and implementation of a marketing strategy for the program and undertake a range of activities to promote our innovative services including organising events, preparing content for website, social media and marketing collateral and representing Project SEARCH at high-level industry events, networking meetings, and expos.
- Mentor, develop and enable Business Development Officers to achieve role based key performance indicators. This will include implementing skills development strategies including supervision and coaching that will support an integrated and collaborative model of service delivery with a strengths based focus.
What makes a difference for us?
- Tertiary Qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Management, Business, Marketing or Social Science)
- Lesser formal qualifications with acquisition of considerable skills and extensive and diverse relevant experience to an equivalent standard.
