Position Overview: As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with potential clients, and expanding presence in the commercial construction market. You will work closely with the executive team to develop and execute strategic Business Development initiatives that align with the company's goals and objectives. This role requires a proactive and motivated individual with a strong sales acumen and a passion for driving business growth in the commercial construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Business Development strategy to identify and pursue new opportunities in the commercial construction market.
- Identify and target potential clients, including property developers, real estate investors, architects, and commercial property owners, to generate new business leads.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractors, to understand their needs and position with my client as their preferred construction partner.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of compelling sales presentations, proposals, and bids that effectively showcase this companies capabilities and value proposition.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, estimators, and engineers, to develop customized solutions that meet client requirements and exceed their expectations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote and establish thought leadership in the commercial construction sector.
- Track and report on Business Development activities, sales performance, and market trends to senior management on a regular basis.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop marketing collateral, case studies, and other materials to support Business Development efforts.
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven experience (10 years) in Business Development or sales roles within the commercial construction industry.
- Strong sales acumen with a track record of successfully identifying and closing new business opportunities.
- Portfolio of ready and contactable connections and clients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with clients and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective Business Development strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and win new business.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented individual with a high level of initiative and drive to achieve targets and exceed expectations.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools is desirable.
- Knowledge of commercial construction processes, terminology, and industry trends is a plus.
