About the role
The Business Development Manager, Governance Academy is part of Governance Institute's Education Team. This role is responsible for ensuring that the Governance Academy, ("the academy") - the education, training and research hub of Governance Institute- gains traction in the market by establishing its brand and developing strong networks with partners and collaborators. The academy aims to attract high calibre academics and practitioners to partner in the delivery of education and training, and research, creating opportunities for growth.
The academy is developing a governance capability framework, an evidence-based framework that provides a foundation for flexible study options for students.
The Business Development Manager, Governance Academy will have a key strategic and operational role in supporting the development and implementation of the Governance Academy and the capability framework and taking this to market.
Key responsibilities:
- Demonstrate successful leadership in representing Governance Academy to external agencies.
- Develop business opportunities with external agencies from a position of understanding Governance Institute of Australia’s standing as a TEQSA-registered Institute of Higher Education and provider of award courses and AQF-aligned micro-credentials.
- Chair or manage committees and relationships with external stakeholders including academics and students.
- Manage multiple priorities and stakeholder relationships simultaneously.
- Have a high level of work ethics that encompasses the following strengths:
- Highly developed and self-directed style and independence.
- Ability to deal with and adapt to a wide spectrum of challenges and deadlines.
- Pragmatic and innovative in analysing and solving problems.
- Efficient and meticulous with excellent attention to detail.
- Have a high level of communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills in working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure courses are delivered on time and within budget.
The successful candidate will have:
- An education or training qualification (undergraduate degree or higher qualification) and extensive relevant experience in education and training leadership
- Demonstrated business acumen in higher education
- Demonstrated successful leadership of education strategies
- Experience chairing or managing committees and managing relationships with external stakeholders including academics and students
- Ability to successfully manage staff, multiple priorities and stakeholder relationships simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
