The role
Operating in our Sydney City campus, the Business Development Manager is responsible for leading the growth of our new Higher Education Institute - 'International Graduate Institute'. This is a newly created role that is responsible for acquiring new business across Australia and increasing the volume and quality of international students studying in IGI campuses. Reporting to the General Manager – Revenue, this is a senior and influential role that will focus on setting strategic sales direction and the execution of acquisition strategies across new and existing business accounts.
In this role you will
- Identify, target and develop new business opportunities within the Higher Education industry to position IGI as a leading provider of Higher Education solutions.
- Build new relationships and maintain relationships with agents, career advisors, Higher Education providers, and key industry stakeholders.
- Develop strategic plans to build a scalable pipeline of students, including defining and structuring partner KPIs, and pathway/articulation agreements.
- Win new business through prospecting, marketing and network referral approaches to meet sales targets and forge new channels and pathways for IGI.
- Provide ongoing training and relevant partner marketing support to partners, as well as handle incoming correspondence and enquiries from new potential clients.
- Influence client preference for IGI through the provision of valuable business solutions, with particular reference to anticipating industry, skills, client and market force changes and tailoring solutions that will evolve and adapt with client’s changing needs.
- Anticipate and monitor customer preferences to determine the core focus of sales efforts and develop solutions that are ‘fit for purpose’ for each client.
- Actively collaborate with other Senior Managers and departments to ensure the effectiveness of operations.
- Local and interstate travel to meet clients, and attend career expos and trade conferences.
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications with an education discipline preferred.
- Excellent sales, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Exceptional organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively, with a strong drive for customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have full-working Rights in Australia.
